Up Close with Ron Purvis
“This is really neat what these folks are doing to help me.” – Ron Purvis
When Ron was only 17, he signed up with the Marine Corp. eventually reaching E6 Staff Sergeant rating before leaving the Marines.
Ron later moved to Arizona. He had a construction company which he ran for a number of years, until his health started to deteriorate.
He bought the property he now resides on in the San Tan Valley, Arizona.
He has lived there in relative peace until September 13, 2012, when his double wide mobile home caught fire and burned to the ground.
Ron remembers trying to put the fire out with water from the bathtub, but to no avail.
The house was a total loss, including all his guns and other valuables.
Ron had no insurance on the house and no means to resurrect a new home, so he is currently living in a tiny donated RV.
He has a 40+ goat herd for his “family” on his property, and lives day to day because of his mounting health problems.
The remains of his burnt house and belongings still sit on the property, and haunt him daily of what happened to him almost three years ago.
